SAN CLEMENTE, CA | March. 18, 2010 — Leading automotive CRM provider DealerSocket (www.dealersocket.com), announced today that company co-founder and CEO Jonathan Ord received a 2010 Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award presented by the Orange County Business Journal during the ninth annual awards ceremony at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Irvine on Wednesday. Also present to accept the award was DealerSocket co-founder and CTO Brad Perry.
DealerSocket was selected from among 121nominees representing companies throughout Orange County, California. In all, five winners were picked by a judging panel that based its decision on the entrepreneur’s vision, execution, accomplishments and/or potential for success.
“This award is a great honor,” said Jonathan Ord, DealerSocket CEO and co-founder. “Brad and I started DealerSocket nine years ago with a vision to do something fun, unique and worthwhile. I feel like we have accomplished that goal by providing both a great place to work and also providing solutions to help car dealers survive and flourish even in a tough economy. This award is shared with all DealerSocket employees and our valued customers.”
Ord and Perry founded DealerSocket in 2001 after spending a year working without pay in a variety of different jobs within an automotive dealership. Since 2001, the company has grown exponentially, winning numerous awards for growth, leadership and community involvement including being named 2009 American Business Awards Best Management Team, Red Herring North American 100 and Best Overall Company in the 2008 International Business Awards.
DealerSocket co-founders continue to grow and develop innovative products that will positively impact the automotive industry and the families of those that work with DealerSocket. In January 2010, DealerSocket acquired Carmind, an online provider of robust video sales training, to further strengthen its ability to help auto dealers sell more cars and create a better buying experience for car buyers. In addition to business expertise, both Ord and Perry give back to their community through providing jobs, volunteerism and leadership.
