ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- ISTA Pharmaceuticals,
Inc., tops the list of the fastest growing companies in Orange County as
recognized by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP at an award event held Tuesday,
Oct. 16, at Joe's Garage Automotive Museum in Tustin. The Orange County
Technology Fast 50, an annual award program, ranks technology, media,
telecommunications and life sciences companies located in Orange County by
percentage revenue growth over five years.
"Deloitte & Touche USA LLP is pleased to honor the companies named to
the 2007 Technology Fast 50 list as well as Orange County's Rising Star
company," said Rick Rayson, Managing Partner, Orange County Practice,
Deloitte & Touche LLP. "We congratulate these businesses on their success,
and applaud their contribution to the growth and vitality of Orange
County."
Companies are selected based on percentage revenue growth over five
years from 2002 to 2006. To be considered, Technology Fast 50 entrants must
have operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2002 and at least $5,000,000
in 2006; be headquartered in Orange County; own proprietary technology or
proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion
of its operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues
to the research and development of technology. Using other companies'
technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
Subsidiaries and divisions are not eligible, unless they have some public
ownership and are separately traded.
"The companies represented in the 2007 Technology Fast 50 and Rising
Star lists have shown exceptional strength, vision and tenacity, which
enables them to them excel in today's competitive environment," said Fred
Poska, Technology Partner and Orange County Technology Fast 50 Champion,
Deloitte & Touche LLP. "Sustaining high revenue growth over five years is
an exceptional accomplishment-we commend these businesses for their ability
to deliver on the promise of market longevity."
