BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Job Responsibilities:
Involved in the specification reviews, test planning, test case development, executing the test, and reporting bugs.
Work closely with the software developers and project managers to coordinate testing efforts and techniques to assure quality releases.
Write “What’s New” documents for end-users. These documents will get posted as a link inside the web application to help teach users how to use new release features.
Review product releases to finds holes in features or problems with the integration of multiple features.
Write clear and concise bug descriptions for developers.
Development of test documentation as required, including strategies, plans, summaries, test cases, and test scripts.
Proactively provide status reports.
Contribute to QA process improvement; maximize the test coverage and improve testing efficiency.

Duties:
DealerSocket is seeking an enthusiastic and detail oriented Software Test Engineer/Technical Writer for a solid and growing software development company in San Clemente.
The Software Test Engineer will be asked to write detailed and thorough test plans, be self motivated and be able to adapt quickly to change.
Front-end testing will consist of:
The Software Test Engineer is to provide front-end testing of web based software. Testing will include data validation, screen flow, speed acceptance, and a reconciliation of defined specifications to the product delivered.
Back end testing will consist of:
The Software Tester may be required to create and run very basic SQL queries including the ability to do simple joins and subqueries. The Engineer will also be required to create and/or modify data for testing purposes. The Engineer will need to determine that the data is valid and accurate as well as verifying against defined specifications.
