Head of Marketing

The Chief Marketing Officer/VP of Marketing (title dependent upon experience) is responsible for driving the overall strategic and tactical marketing plan for the business, ensuring delivery of annual operating commitments in a high growth environment. The CMO/VP will develop and execute a marketing strategy and plan that results in substantial revenue growth for the organization. The CMO/VP will set marketing objectives, establish and lead core communication, and deliver resources to support go-to-market activities, in order to meet customer needs, establish market leadership, drive innovation, and build a sustainable and scalable team.

• Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan that results in substantial revenue growth for the organization and brand transformation
• Work closely with the CEO, General Managers, CRO and CPO and their teams to provide direction and insight on go-to-market strategies, buyer personas and behaviors, category awareness, purchase intent, industry insights and competitive analysis
• Lead a marketing function that exhibits disciplined execution, planning, budgeting, managing, and analyzing performance
• Talent management, including coaching, mentoring and org design, of the Marketing organization to scale and operate at a high level of productivity, engagement, and efficiency
• Oversee all internal and external communications activities, including press releases, customer newsletters and company announcements, to name a few
• Define buyer personas, build buyer journey maps, and create targeted messaging and campaigns
• Develop and execute successful demand generation programs
• Effectively measure ROI of the brand, effectively communicate that ROI and create brand advocates in the market; build and grow a client reference/advocacy program
• Create and implement effective sales and marketing tools, including management and development of sales collateral, presentations, client success stories and other sales tools to enhance sales team efforts
• Travel to corporate offices, customer meetings, and trade shows/conferences

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
• 10+ years’ experience leading dynamic marketing teams in a software business
• Significant and recent experience as a CMO or Head of Marketing in a SaaS environment required
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and communication / presentations
• Advanced knowledge of best practices in B2B SaaS marketing, including digital marketing and lead generation
• Thorough understanding of and experience utilizing marketing automation tools and other technology to support the requirements of the business
• Ability to work collaboratively with other executives and team members
• Proven success supporting sales organizations with innovative marketing programs and pipeline-building activities that complement company sales goals and initiatives
• A proven track record of motivating and developing high-performing teams
• Excellent project management, planning and budgeting skills
• Ability to manage analyst relationships
• Knowledge of marketing KPIs and analytics with the ability to make data-driven decisions
